Known for his kind and approachable manner, Nick is a highly experienced and respected surgeon with extensive NHS and private practice experience. He has a particular expertise in advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) and robotic surgery, endometriosis, and complex gynaecological conditions.
Nick has held several senior clinical and educational roles throughout his career, including Clinical Tutor for 10 years and Deputy Chief of Service for 5 years. He is also committed to the training and development of senior trainees in advanced gynaecological surgery.

In addition to general gynaecology, Nick has a longstanding interest in fertility and the investigation and treatment of couples wishing to start or expand their families. He provides medical and surgical treatment where appropriate and works closely with assisted conception services when further treatment is required.
Specialist Expertise
Nick has been passionate about minimally invasive surgery since early in his career. Following his medical training at St Thomas’s Hospital Medical School between 1986 and 1992, he returned to St Thomas’s for postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology before undertaking further specialist training in reproductive medicine at the Guys and St Thomas’s Assisted Conception Unit.
He subsequently moved to Bristol, where he completed Specialist Registrar training in the Southwest of England from 1998 to 2003. Keen to develop his expertise in advanced laparoscopic surgery, he then undertook a prestigious Laparoscopic Fellowship at the Sydney Women’s Endosurgery Centre (SWEC) in Sydney, Australia, from 2003 to 2005.
Returning to the UK, Nick was appointed as a Consultant at Frimley Park Hospital in 2006, initially as Lead for Laparoscopic Surgery. In 2009, he became an accredited da Vinci robotic surgeon with Intuitive Surgical and has continued to develop his expertise in robotic and minimally invasive gynaecological surgery.
Nick is a past President of the British and Irish Association of Robotic Gynaecologists (BIARGS) and remains actively involved in advancing robotic and minimally invasive surgery.
Nick is delighted to be working back in his home city of Winchester at Medicana Hospital, bringing his extensive experience in advanced gynaecological, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery to patients in the local area.
He is committed to providing personalised, compassionate care while combining his extensive surgical experience with the latest advances in minimally invasive gynaecological treatment.
He is thrilled to be working back in his home town of Winchester in the excellent Medicana Hospital.
