Mr Hani Nasef

Mr. Hani Nasef is a skilled ENT surgeon specializing in head and neck cancers, skull base surgery, and thyroid and parathyroid surgery. With extensive training and experience, he is dedicated to providing high-quality care for complex conditions.

Training

Mr. Nasef completed his basic and advanced ENT training at one of Egypt’s largest university hospitals, where he gained expertise in head and neck, and skull base surgery. He earned his Master’s and PhD degrees in Otolaryngology, and later served as a consultant and lecturer at Alexandria University Hospital. He further honed his skills with advanced fellowships in Italy and the UK, focusing on complex head and neck cancer and thyroid/parathyroid surgery. He passed the FRCS examination in April 2019.

Areas of Expertise

Mr. Nasef specializes in the management of head and neck cancers, salivary gland tumours, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, and anterior skull base conditions.

Current Practice

He works as an ENT head and neck consultant at Portsmouth Hospital University, managing over 250 head and neck cancer cases and 300 thyroid/parathyroid surgeries annually. In the Parathyroid clinic more than 150 patients are seen annually.  He is a core member of multi-disciplinary teams for head and neck and thyroid cancer and uses advanced surgical technology, including nerve monitoring, parathyroid auto-fluorescence and rapid access parathyroid hormone testing.

Thyroid and Parathyroid Practice

He does more than 120 thyroid and parathyroid operations every year. Almost all of them have no complications.

He offers surgical interventions for different thyroid conditions including cancer, overactive glands, and large glands causing compressive symptoms

He has done more than 150 parathyroid operations, with more than 98% success rate. He deals with all types of hyperparathyroidism; including genetic and Normo-Calcaemic conditions. He has good experience in unilateral targeted parathyroid adenoma excision as well as bilateral parathyroid explorations.

Research and Publications

He has published extensively on head and neck and thyroid conditions and is actively involved in clinical trials. His research aims to advance patient care, refine surgical techniques, and explore minimally invasive approaches to improve patient outcomes.

He has finished Master’s degree and  PhD degree and he has done 2 research projects that have been published in high ranked medical journals.
