About Mr Chris Schulz

Mr Chris Schulz is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with a subspecialty practice in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery, based at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. His practice covers the full range of eyelid surgery, from eyelid malposition and facial palsy to reconstruction after skin cancer removal, alongside watery eye, blocked tear ducts, and conditions affecting the orbit such as thyroid eye disease.

He co-leads the joint lacrimal service at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust and established a regional orbital decompression service for thyroid eye disease. He is part of a regional multidisciplinary team for periocular skin cancer, working alongside dermatologists and maxillofacial surgeons to provide the full range of skin cancer surgery, including Mohs.

Before his consultant appointment in 2023, Mr Schulz completed over four years of dedicated oculoplastic training across Portsmouth, Southampton, Bournemouth and Salisbury, including a research fellowship in epiphora outcomes at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, and a 12-month subspecialty fellowship at University Hospitals Sussex, Brighton.
