About Dr Matt Stubbs

Dr Matt Stubbs brings over a decade of experience in pain medicine, combining deep clinical knowledge with a commitment to delivering personalised, holistic care. With a strong academic foundation, Dr Stubbs graduated with first-class honours in Clinical Sciences from University College London and went on to achieve triple distinction in Medicine from Bart’s & The Royal London School of Medicine.

He completed specialist training in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia across London and the Wessex region, earning fellowships with both the Faculty of Pain Medicine and the Royal College of Anaesthetists. Further honing his skills, he undertook a prestigious post-certification fellowship at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Pain and Neuromodulation Centre, where he focused on advanced procedures for spine, nerve, and musculoskeletal pain.

As co-founder of the Wessex Pain Clinic and with an NHS base in Portsmouth, Dr Stubbs is at the forefront of innovation in pain care. He is particularly known for his work in neuromodulation, including spinal cord stimulation and dorsal root ganglion (DRG) therapy. His approach is rooted in warmth, empathy, and a genuine commitment to helping patients live with less pain and greater independence.
