Bio

Having qualified from Bristol University Medical School in 1991, I progressed through Anaesthetic, Medical and Radiology training in the Midlands to gain my Consultant Certificate in 2001. I am a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists and a member of the British Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiologists (BSGAR).
As well as maintaining skills in general radiology I have subspecialised in imaging and intervention of the gastrointestinal system.
I currently practice as a Consultant in the Imaging department at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth and through Radiology Imaging Group have a thriving private practice at several sites throughout Hampshire.
I am registered with the General Medical Council and undergo regular audit and annual appraisal as part of the revalidation process. I keep up to date with all areas of radiology as well as my sub-speciality interest through continuing medical education. All these processes and safeguards enable me to provide the highest quality of service to my patients.
I have particular skills in Ultrasound of the abdomen and as a result we have run courses and training for many other doctors and ultrasound practitioners from all over the UK.
I was appointed as a travelling professor by the Royal College of Radiologists and British Society of Gastrointestinal Radiologists between August 2019 and October 2022.
I have also acquired an extensive experience of bariatric radiology including the assessment and adjustment of laparoscopic bands.
We are involved in the latest up to date trials within abdominal imaging and training of the next generation of radiologists.
In addition, my expertise has been used in both National and European roles.
